Okay! Today, well, in the afternoon and evening of today, I'll be at my writing desk working on the second reading of Cardinal Machines 6, just to update you. I'm almost decided on the title. The (brilliant) cover artist is waiting on my decision for her forms. Cross your fingers for me! I'll be updating you here, and, for larger discussions, in the blog!

Just updating that The Wreckage (3rd book in the Dead Set series) is out in the world, as is Cardinal Soul! I've gotten 4 Anthology stories, another Cardinal Machines book, and am enjoying the heck out of writing the next book of the Folded series rn! The King remains unruly and, well, a King! I do have to make some decisions about the map and the Orth dictionary though. Hm...

Hi! Just updating you all that the Copyright is with the Library of Congress for the next Cardinal Machines book. I'm still waiting on the cover artist to get back to me on the design so I can do a cover reveal! In more news? I'm working my way through the LONG overdue 3rd book in the ghost hunting series, The Dead Set! Hoping to get that pounded out quickly!

There's a lot to be written. 😄

All right! Quick update after this weekend -- Pokemon Go Fest weekend for those of you who care about wandering around outside (well, in safer times), doing geeky things! I also nabbed an extra day off this weekend, due to the amount of work I've been doing (I produced 31 videos in 9 days, folks. I was tired.) The coming week is setting up to be more hectic than the last, but I'm ready to brave it. I'm here to note that the cover art is on track for beginning August, and that I'm only 5 chapters from completing the 2nd pass on the book! From there, it'll be time to send book 6 to the Library of Congress for copyright. As I learn more, I'll be posting the title and cover reveal on the blog. In the meantime?

Okay! So it looks like.... I got to Chapter 5 on 2nd reading pass today. My brain is a bit of a bowl full of jelly though. I may have to take it offline for a while! I hope everyone else is well. 😴

Checking CM6, I'm at 138,518 words right at the moment, and 260 pages. Let's just see if the second pass removes words or... adds them. I know what I would bet! Since the average book these days is about 50,000 words, that makes this book, in that estimation, 2.7 books. So. Welcome to the trilogy that is CM book 6. LOL!

Is the title the last thing you do? Do you write multiple books at the same time, ever, or is it one story at a time?

Nope. Not at all. The title is just part of the process of getting the book ready and there are many steps after titling. Both the copyright paperwork, and the cover art need the title. Getting the title is done closer to the beginning of the process than the end.

Oh! And just noticed the second part of your question! Sorry! I'm not the kind of writer who does her best writing while juggling the frames of mind for 2 books at once. I'm not a multi-tasker in that sense, generally. I have, in the past, written more than 1 story at once, but, I do my best work when I focus on 1 book at a time. That doesn't mean I don't have several books in some state of being done at a time though!
